Whistler is located on the West Coast of Canada and is part of British Columbia’s Picturesque Coast Mountain Range. The drive from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Whistler takes roughly 2 ½ hours along the Sea to Sky Highway (Highway 99).
Yes! One of the most advantageous features of the Whistler Blackcomb ski resort is that it’s comprised of two mountains: Whistler Mountain and Blackcomb Mountain. Your winter lift ticket gives you access to both mountains as well as the Peak-2-Peak gondola (which connects the two).
Our suites are true ski-in ski-out properties on Blackcomb Mountain, and a short 1 min ski to the Blackcomb Gondola and Ski School.
In the summer, both mountains are both open for sightseeing and hiking. Our world-famous Whistler Mountain Bike Park is located on Whistler Mountain.
The closest airport to Whistler is Vancouver International Airport (YVR). YVR operates domestic and international flights and is a 2 ½ hour drive south of Whistler on the Sea to Sky Highway (Highway 99).
The South Terminal of Vancouver Airport handles private aircraft departures and arrivals. Transportation to and from Whistler is available by shuttle bus, SUV’s, private limousines, helicopter, and float plane. Helicopter flights are available year-round and are weather dependent. The float plane option is only available during the summer.
No, you don’t need a car to get around Whistler… but you should reserve your transportation-of-choice to and from Whistler immediately. The good news is there are lots of transportation companies operating out of downtown Vancouver, the Vancouver International Airport (YVR), and the Vancouver Island Ferries (buses, coaches, shuttle buses, luxe charter vehicles, and helicopter services).
Once you arrive at Whistler’s Upper Village (where our homes are located) everything is walkable. A bonus of booking with us is that our neighbourhood is one of the few areas serviced by Whistler’s Free Village Shuttle all year long. It stops on the road in front of our complex every 15-30 minutes (depending on the season)!
We also highly recommend exploring Whistler by bike. There’s a huge network of trails throughout Whistler making exploring the area car-free a breeze!
The Highway 99 bylaw states that every vehicle travelling on Highway 99 (Sea to Sky Highway) is required to use winter tires between October 1st and March 31st. Check it out:
“…passenger vehicles travelling along Highway 99 require winter tires with the three-peaked mountain and snowflake symbol or the M + S (mud and snow symbol) with at least 3.5 mm of tread (1/8th inch tread).”
If you are spotted without tires that meet these specs, you will be fined and forced to return to Vancouver. If you are renting a car in Vancouver and driving up, let the rental car company know that you’re driving to Whistler and need a car with winter / snow rated tires. Let them know this as soon as you reserve the car. And verify before you drive it out of the lot that they have the appropriate symbols on the tires.
The snow plows on Highway 99 are clearing roads 24/7 during heavy snow conditions. Once you get into Whistler, the main roads are generally in pretty good condition. The good news about our vacation rentals is that they’re in the nightly rental area of Whistler… so the roads around us are prioritized and cleared first.
We recommend consulting Drive BC or this Whistler road conditions map before heading up the mountain. Both of these sites post footage from webcams along Highway 99 so you can check out the road conditions before driving to Whistler.

Whistler and Blackcomb mountains are open for skiing and snowboarding around the third week of November (generally coinciding with US Thanksgiving). Closing generally falls around May 22. On Blackcomb Mountain, the hard-core ski / snowboard crowd skis the glacier often until mid-July, giving Whistler the longest ski season in North America!

Yes! The Aspens on Blackcomb is a premium ski-in ski-out location. Our complex is located on the lower slope of Blackcomb Mountain… a quick 1 min ski to the Blackcomb gondola and Blackcomb ski school.
Yes, our ski valet service is absolutely free. Where’s the ski valet service? Walk into the lobby and turn left after the fireplace. Walk through the double doors. The valet service will be directly on the right. This is where you will also drop off your skis after a day on Whistler Blackcomb.

Yes, you can reserve your skis or snowboard online and pick them up at the ski shop located in our lobby. Bonus!
Blackcomb Ski Rental Store Hours (located in The Aspen’s lobby): Nov 24, 2023 – Dec 15, 2023 open from 8 am to 6 pm; Dec 16, 2023 – end of ski season open from 7 am to 6 pm.
Yes, there are 2 secure bike cages at The Aspens on Blackcomb. Please bring your own cable & lock. We recommend that you secure your bikes wherever you go in Whistler, even in the bike cage in case someone leaves the door open.
Our minimum age requirement for booking is 25. Guests are required to pay 50% of the Rental Fee at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due 40 days before your arrival date. The Guest who books the Property and pays the Rental Fee (the Booking Guest) represents and warrants that s/he has forwarded the Rental Agreement to the other Guests, and by booking the Property all the Guests have accepted the Rental Agreement and agree to be bound by its terms and conditions. Please review the Rental Agreement before booking.
At the time of booking, we also ask our Guests for a security deposit of $500.00 CAD. The deposit will be released automatically after your departure if there is no damage.
We use SSL Certificates to offer secure communications by encrypting all data to and from our site. The Trusted Site Seal is a visible, real-time assurance that our site is protected by one of the most trusted digital certificate providers on the web.
Our company’s insurance provider requires that we collect and verify a valid ID as all our homes are self-check-in. We will send you clear instructions on how to do that once your booking is confirmed. ID verification must be provided within 24 hours of completing your reservation or your reservation may be subject to cancellation.
Bookings made directly though thesuitelifewhistler.com are subject to auto withdrawal of your balance due 30 days prior to arrival taken from the credit card on file. A balance reminder notice is emailed a few days prior to that date. If you wish to change your payment method, this must be completed prior to the due date.
As a Book Direct Guest you receive our most generous cancellation policy! You’ll receive a full refund of the Rental Fee, including the Reservation Deposit, and the Damage Deposit if you cancel your reservation at least fourteen (14) days before your Check-In Date. You’ll receive a 50% refund of the Rental Fee, including the Reservation Deposit, and of the Damage Deposit if you cancel your reservation between seven (7) and fourteen (14) days before the Check-In Date. If you cancel within six (6) days before the Check-In Date, you are not entitled to a refund of the Rental Fee or the Damage Deposit. A non-refundable 5% fee is charged for all cancellations.
However, if we’re able to rebook a portion of your cancelled dates, we will happily refund you for the cancelled dates we’re able to rebook (minus processing fees).
All access codes are date and time sensitive. They are enabled at 4 pm on your day of arrival and disabled at 10 am on your day of departure.
Our front door smart locks can be accessed any time after check-in (4:00pm) so any late check-ins are completely fine, no matter how late since its self-check-in!

We try to accommodate requests for early check-in and late check-out as much as possible. However, during holidays and peak seasons, these requests are more challenging to grant (but it never hurts to ask : ).
During the Winter months (Nov 1st-Mar 31st) only Pay Parking is available in our complex. After April 1st, free street parking is available, but extremely limited. The secure underground parking at the Aspens is pay parking only. Tickets may be purchased from the yellow machine located in the lobby entrance. Parking costs $25.00 per 24 hour period. Parkade height is 6 feet 6 inches tall. The machine takes Canadian $2 / $1 coins, Visa, Amex, and MC.
We do not have in-suite laundry. However, there are coin operated laundry facilities at The Aspens. The closest one to our suite is located on Level P2. We provide laundry detergent and dryer sheets for your convenience. The machines take US and Canadian coins: toonies ($2), loonies ($1) & quarters. It’s $2.50 per wash / $2.50 per dry.
